Documents for work in Italy

Employment contracts, payslips, bank statements, criminal record certificates and academic qualifications: these are the documents needed for a work authorisation, a residence permit, a family reunification, a public competition or a mortgage application. Issued abroad, they have to be filed in Italian.

A sworn translation costs 30 € per page and arrives as a signed and stamped PDF by email in 24 to 48 working hours: the quantity to enter in the order is the number of pages. A paper copy by post is an option.

Which document you need depends on the procedure, and the office that receives it, the Prefettura, the Questura, the immigration one-stop shop or your employer, is the only one that can confirm the list: check it before you order. The dedicated guides line the documents up for each route: decreto flussi and work authorisation, residence permit, family reunification and bank statements and payslips.
