Frequently asked questions

What a sworn translation is and what it is worth

It is a translation produced by a sworn translator, who signs it, stamps it and certifies that it is faithful to the document. It is the translation that the Comune (town hall), the Prefettura (prefecture), universities and consulates require for foreign documents.

You receive the translation as a signed and stamped PDF by email: for most procedures, that is all you need. If you also need a paper copy, choose the postal delivery option (15 €).

The standard translation is produced from the scan you send us and conforms to that scan: this is the solution accepted for most procedures. Some authorities, however, require a translation certified against the original: in that case you send us the original document and its conformity is certified. This option is available on quote: compare the options.

Documents we translate and validity abroad

We translate all kinds of official and administrative documents, including:

  • Birth, marriage and death certificates
  • Criminal record certificates, passports, identity cards
  • University degrees, academic transcripts and other qualifications
  • Contracts, payslips, powers of attorney, judgments and judicial documents

It depends on the country and the receiving authority. To use a document abroad you often need a Hague apostille, or consular legalisation if the country is not party to the 1961 Convention. Tell us the destination: we will confirm the format required and, if needed, send you a quote for the apostille.

We work with the pairs for which we have a translator: these are the ones offered in the menu on each product page. If yours is not listed, write to us before ordering and we will confirm availability and turnaround.

Prices, turnaround and options (apostille, postal delivery)

24-48 business hours for a standard document. For long documents or less common languages, we confirm the turnaround before we start. If you choose a paper copy, postal delivery time is added.

30 € per page, whatever the language pair. The final price is confirmed once we have checked the document.
What can change the total:

  • The number of pages in the document
  • The option chosen: paper copy by post

If you have a specific deadline, write to us by email or through the quote page: we will tell you what is possible.

The Hague apostille is an international certification that attests to the authenticity of a public document. In Italy it is issued by the Prefettura (prefecture) or the Procura della Repubblica (public prosecutor's office), depending on the document. 👉 If your foreign document requires an apostille, obtain it before ordering the translation: it is affixed to the original and must be translated too.

Yes. For orders of several documents or large volumes we apply special rates. Write to us and we will prepare a tailored quote.

Ordering, tracking and invoicing

It is generated automatically with every order. You can also request it by email and we will send it to you as a PDF.

When your order is confirmed, you receive an email with a summary. We notify you again when the translation is ready and, if you chose a paper copy, when it is dispatched.

Yes, as long as the translation has not started. Once work is under way, as this is a service tailored to your document, cancellation is no longer possible; we remain flexible about adjusting options such as postal delivery.

Confidentiality and special documents

Yes ✅. All the documents you entrust to us are handled in strict confidence. Only the translator assigned to your file, who is bound by professional secrecy, has access to them.

In that case we may ask you for a typed transcription or a sharper scan, to avoid errors in the translation.
