Which translation do you need?

For most procedures, a sworn translation in PDF is all you need. If the authority asks for more, you can add an option.

1. Sworn translation in PDF: the standard solution

  • You upload a scan or a clear photo of the document: nothing to send by post.
  • A sworn translator translates the document, signs and stamps the translation and certifies that it is faithful to the document received.
  • You receive the PDF by email within 24-48 business hours.

This is the translation requested by the Comune (town hall), the Prefettura (prefecture), universities and consulates for most procedures. Choose your document.

2. Paper copy by post

The same translation, signed and stamped, also reaches you on paper. Add it to your order: paper copy by post.

3. Translation certified against the original

Some authorities require the translation to be certified as conforming to the original document rather than to a scan. In that case, you send us the original document by post, already apostilled or legalised if necessary: the translation is certified as conforming and we return the original to you together with the translation. Turnaround and cost depend on the document: request a quote.

4. Apostille and legalisation

If the document is to be used in another country, you may need a Hague apostille or, for countries that are not party to the Convention, consular legalisation. Request a quote.

How to choose?

Ask the receiving authority which format it accepts. If a PDF is fine, order the standard translation. If it wants a paper copy, add postal delivery. If it requires certification against the original, write to us and we will reply with a quote.

Worth reading before you order

All prices are on the prices page and the steps are in how it works. To work out which form of translation your office is asking for, read sworn, asseverated, certified or legalised translation and when the PDF is enough. If the document is going abroad, start with apostille and sworn translation.
