Documents for Italian citizenship

An Italian citizenship application, whether by descent, by marriage or by residence, rests on civil status records. Records issued abroad have to be filed in Italian and, almost always, with the apostille or consular legalisation already affixed to the original. This page lists the documents that are requested most often, each with its price and its turnaround.

A sworn translation costs 30 € per page and arrives as a signed and stamped PDF by email in 24 to 48 working hours: the quantity to enter in the order is the number of pages of the document. A paper copy by post is an option. Our translators are sworn before the competent courts of appeal.

The exact list changes with the route you take and with the town hall, the Prefettura or the consulate that receives the file: always check the list given by the receiving office before you order.
